Antonio Conte has been nominated for the FIFA World Coach of the Year 2014, along with fellow-Italian Carlo Ancelotti.

The 10-man shortlist for the award was released this morning by the game’s governing body and France Football magazine, and the Azzurri CT is among the contenders for the prize.

Conte guided Juventus to a record 102 Serie A points last season, winning every home game in the process before leaving the club in the summer and taking over the Italian national team job.

Former Milan Coach Carlo Ancelotti is also nominated, after winning the Champions League with Real Madrid last term.

The triumph was Ancelotti’s fifth in the competition as a player or manager, and was Los Merengues’ 10th title.

Captains and head Coaches of every national team plus selected representatives from the world media will cast their votes, with a three-man shortlist to be announced on December 1.

The award winner will then be revealed in a special televised ceremony at the Zurich Kongresshaus on January 12, 2015, with several other awards being presented at the same time, including the FIFA Ballon d’Or, which Juve’s Paul Pogba is in contention for.

The FIFA FIFPro World XI, the FIFA Puskás Award – for the most beautiful goal of the year – the FIFA Presidential Award and the FIFA Fair Play Award will also be presented.
