Tottenham are desperate to tie down Antonio Conte to a new deal but he’s still not given a clear answer following their latest offer, reports suggest.

The 53-year-old Italian coach took over in November 2021 following the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo and has done well in North London, averaging 1.86 points per match across 58 games. Tottenham currently sit fourth in the Premier League table and will face Milan in the Round of 16 of the Champions League in the new year.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Tottenham recently offered Conte a new contract, proposing a raise of over £1m a year in an attempt to convince him to put pen to paper. The former Juventus and Italy coach made it clear to the club that he isn’t in a rush to sign the new deal and his response has left the club anxious.

Conte only has around six months left on his current contract with Spurs, which reportedly contains an option for an extra year, and it’s likely that he’s waiting to see the club’s ambitions in the January transfer market before committing to anything.

Juventus fans have been dreaming of the 53-year-old’s return should Massimiliano Allegri depart the club at the end of the season. His family still live in Italy and he has often returned to Turin since his move to Tottenham last year.
