Antonio Conte warned any talk of an Italy contract extension is “on ice” until Euro 2016 and urged focus on Azerbaijan.
The Azzurri kick off their qualifier in Baku today at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).
“The issue of my contract is not controversial,” assured the Azzurri Coach on Rai Sport.
“It simply comes after other priorities. Right now I am focused on qualifying for the Euros and making the Italian people proud of this Nazionale with a great tournament.

Conte also shrugged off questions about injuries on international duty and perceived pressure from clubs.
“I am not resigned to this being the way it is, I simply try to avoid controversy. We must all focus our energy on to a single common goal.”
