Antonio Conte was furious after Tottenham Hotspur lost with the last kick of the game to Slovenians Mura, leaving their Europa Conference League participation in doubt. ‘It will take time to bring Tottenham back.’

“This a bad loss for us,” the Italian manager told UEFA reporters.

“The performance was poor. We know we have a lot of work ahead of us. This is a difficult moment for us.

“We need patience to improve, to be good again. We were poor not only technically and tactically but also mentally. It will take time to bring Tottenham back.”

Spurs had a nightmare evening in Slovenia, as they were already trailing 1-0 to a Tomi Horvat scorcher when Ryan Sessegnon was sent off just 30 minutes into the match.

Harry Kane managed to equalise, but unusually for a Conte team, they were caught out on the counter-attack with the last kick of the game.

Amadej Marosa was probably about to fire wide, but the deflection off Davinson Sanchez left Pierluigi Gollini with no chance.

Spurs are joint second with Vitesse on seven points, as Rennes have won the Conference League group on 11 points.

  1. Levy needs to spend big in January, NO excuses, if Conte isn’t backed Lewis and Levy will feel the wrath of the fans I’m sure of that, we will demand they sell up and get out of the club. 20 years of ENIC is way too much to take.

  2. Anyone in the media remember me having a good run in Europe? I can only win leagues after being knocked out of Europe early!!!! My European record is shocking to say Im supposed to be one of the best coaches in the world?? One day chairman and owners will realise I’m not worth 12 million euros a year 😉

  3. if vitesse beat mura spurs are out and napoli may have a hard time while the roman clubs are pretty much qualified now

  4. With an arguably speaker side, Simone Inzaghi took Interbafter 10 years into 16th (with a game to spare) , something Conte could’nt achieve.
