Antonio Conte expressed his unhappiness at Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, saying that ‘war is not the answer’.

The Russian army officially invaded Ukraine on Thursday February 24, sending armed forces into the country and launching missile attacks of a number of cities. Countless innocent civilians have tragically been killed and fighting is still ongoing.

The Polish FA announced this morning that they do not plan to play Russia in their upcoming 2022 World Cup play-off match, refusing to take to the pitch. Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny released a statement earlier today in support of this decision.

UEFA have announced that the Champions League final will not be played in St Petersburg, as initially planned, but instead in the Stade de France in Paris.

Conte also made a brief comment on the situation on his Instagram story, sharing a photo of Ruslan Malinovskyi wearing a vest which reads ‘No war in Ukraine.’ Conte added his own message to this, saying “War is not the answer.”
