“We’ve had time to work with Eriksen on a tactical level in the position of playmaker, the one currently held by Marcelo Brozovic,” Conte said on Tuesday.

“I expect great things from him in that position.”

The coach seems to have changed his mind about the role of the 27-year-old as, back in November, he stated the Dane had not the right skills for a playmaker position.

“It’s a role that would penalise the player too much,” he said before Inter’s home game against Torino.

“Christian has important skills. If I’d put him in front of the defence, I’d take away his greatest strength."

Eriksen has started five of the 13 games he’s played in all competitions so far this season.

The former Tottenham is expected to leave Inter in January, but his wages reportedly stall his Inter exit.
