Brighton loanee Aaron Connolly will come back to England before time after Venezia decided to terminate his loan, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.

The 20-year-old Ireland international joined the Serie B side last July, following a six-month loan at Middlesbrough, in the hope of getting regular playing time under coach Paolo Vanoli, for a side who has a reputation for developing young talents.

However, he was never able to become a regular presence in Venezia’s starting XI, especially after an injury prevented him from settling in and showing his skills.

As a result, the forward’s playing time was limited to five appearances, before Venezia’s call to part with the player.

Connolly will now travel back to England and will be included in Roberto De Zerbi’s squad, as the former Sassuolo coach will have the chance to evaluate him and decider whether to loan him out once again or keep him at Withdean Stadium.
