As Football Italia reported earlier today, Liverpool have agreed the purchase of Giovanni Leoni from Parma for just €35m plus a cut of the future sale fee.
He is set to fly out for his medical tomorrow and there are no plans for the Reds to loan him out this season.
This is a significantly lower figure than the €40m that the Ducali had been asking for earlier in the summer, a demand that had put off Inter and Milan.
Surprisingly, Parma are prepared to accept just €35m including performance-related add-ons, so it is not even a fixed fee.
However, the Stadio Tardini side will get a percentage of the sell-on fee to boost their finances in future.
Liverpool waiting for Leoni medical tests

Leoni is only 18 years of age and set to celebrate his 19th birthday in December.
A product of the Padova youth academy, the centre-back moved to Sampdoria in 2024 for €1.5m, then was immediately sold on to Parma.
That deal was worth €4.8m plus up to another €3.5m in add-ons and a 10 per cent cut of the fee.
He has only made 17 Serie A appearances in his entire career, still managing to score a goal, and made seven appearances for Italy at Under-19 level.

I imagine this season will have the lowest percentage of Italians ever playing in Serie A?
But young Italians are better off in a foreign league. He’d still be considered “young” in Italy when he’s 25.
what the hell are inter doing? waiting to get him at a bargain price 10 in 2035?
