Roma coach Jose Mourinho wants to finish first in the group and should start with Nicolò Zaniolo and Tammy Abraham up front against CSKA Sofia.

The Giallorossi are in Buglaria for the final round of the Conference League group stage and several key players have remained in Rome.

The coach claimed ‘coronavirus, injuries and suspensions’ have limited La Lupa in recent weeks and Mourinho confirmed he will rest Rui Patricio, Henkrikh Mkhitaryan and Chris Smalling.

But he wants the top spot in the group, to avoid a play-off for the last 16 of the competition. Roma need a win and Bodo/Glimt to drop points against Zorya on Thursday.

Mourinho will side a 3-5-2 formation with Zaniolo alongside Abraham up front, with Bryan Cristante, Jordan Veretout and Amadou Diawara in the middle.

Rick Karsdorp and Matias Vina should play on either side, while Gianluca Mancini, Roger Ibanez and Marash Kumbulla will start in defence, ahead of Daniel Fuzato in goal.

Probable line-ups: CSKA Sofia vs. Roma

CSKA Sofia (4-4-2): Busatto; Turitsov, Mattheij, Galabov, Mazikou; Yomov, Muhar, Lam, Wildschut; Carey, Krastev

Roma (3-5-2): Fuzato; Mancini, Kumbulla, Ibanez; Karsdorp, Veretout, Cristante, Diawara, Vina; Zaniolo, Abraham

  1. Carey may leave CSKA for good because of personal issues. He is not in the group for this match
