With Ciro Immobile out of action due to a muscle injury, Maurizio Sarri will use Felipe Anderson as a false 9 in the first leg of the Conference League Round of 16 against AZ Alkmaar today.

It kicks off at 17.45 GMT at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Immobile is the only absentee for the Serie A side that beat Napoli this past Friday.

Former West Ham winger Felipe Anderson will play as a false 9 completing an attacking trident with Mattia Zaccagni and Pedro, who is still wearing a protective mask after a nose injury suffered two weeks ago.

Felipe Anderson has three assists in the competition this term, more than any other teammate.

The only doubt for Sarri appears to be in central midfield, with one between Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Matias Vecino starting on the bench.

A few regular starters are expected to rest: Ivan Provedel, Alessio Romagnoli and Nicolò Casale. Luis Maximiano will start between the sticks for the Biancocelesti.

Lazio-AZ Alkmaar: probable line-ups

AZ Alkmaar (4-3-3): Ryan; Sugawara, Goes, Hatzidiakos, Kerkez; Reijnders, Mijnans, Clasie; Odgaard, Pavlidis, Karlsson.
