Another new name has emerged for the Juventus bench after Maurizio Sarri was fired, with links for FC Porto coach Sergio Conceicao.

Sarri was formally dismissed this afternoon, as winning the Scudetto was not enough, considering he lost the Italian Supercup, the Coppa Italia Final and went out of the Champions League at the Round of 16.

Mauricio Pochettino has emerged as the favourite to take over, mainly because he is out of contract, unlike other candidates Zinedine Zidane and Simone Inzaghi.

Andrea Pirlo would be easy to appoint, having been unveiled as the Under-23 Juventus coach just this week, but has no managerial experience.

The latest name tipped for the Turin role by Top Calcio 24 and Calciomercato.it is Conceicao, who is currently under contract until June 2021 with Porto.

The 44-year-old tactician has been at Porto since 2017, with previous experiences at Olhanense, Coimbra, Sporting Braga, Vitoria Guimaraes and FC Nantes.

Conceicao has never coached in Italy, but is very familiar with Serie A, having spent much of his career with Lazio, Parma and Inter from 1998 to 2004.

He has won two Portuguese league titles and one edition of the Portuguese Supercup.

There were suggestions Juve would go for a Portuguese coach in order to appease Cristiano Ronaldo, but the other name was Paulo Sousa.

He is a former Juventus player, who was a coach in Serie A with Fiorentina, but has struggled badly ever since, dismissed by Tianjin Quanjian and flopping with Girondins de Bordeaux.
