Damien Comolli, current President and director of football at Ligue 1 side Toulouse, has been tipped as the potential new CEO at Milan according to reports in Italy on Thursday afternoon.

Toulouse, since 2020, have been owned by RedBird Capital, the same firm that controls Milan.

Under Comolli’s guidance, Toulouse earned promotion from Ligue 2, finishing the 2021-22 season as champions, before going on to win the Coupe de France the following year, which also resulted in a spot in the Europa League for 2023-24.

Comolli reportedly arrived in Nice on the recommendation of legendary baseball figure and analysis-extraordinaire Billy Beane, the man around whom the 2003 book Moneyball, and the feature film in 2011 were written.

According to reports from TMW on Thursday, the ownership group at Milan are considering appointing Commoli as CEO in San Siro.

Milan already have a CEO in place in Giorgio Furlani, although Comolli’s potential arrival would not necessarily mean that the current incumbent would leave the club.

Furlani could instead be re-deployed in a slightly different role on the backroom staff according to Thursday’s reports.
