Cesc Fabregas continues to reinforce his Como side, with Rodri Sanchez close from Real Betis, Raphael Varane confident and ex-Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno in talks too.

The tiny club backed by Indonesian and American investors earned promotion to Serie A this summer with Fabregas as the coach.

They are determined to make a splash in the Italian top flight and are casting a wide net for both young talents and veteran free agents.

Varane already visited the training facilities and met with Fabregas to discuss the move, taking a couple of weeks to consider his future after the Manchester United contract ran down, but Como are confident he will sign a two-year deal.

After Varane, Como turn to Sanchez and Moreno

Transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano maintains the latest player in talks is left-back Moreno, who is a free agent after his contract with Villarreal was allowed to expire.

He spent five years at Liverpool before the free transfer to Villarreal in 2019 and just turned 32 a few days ago.

A younger player on the Como radar is 24-year-old creative midfielder Rodri Sanchez, as negotiations with his club are expected next week.

Real Betis are asking for circa €6m to let Rodri Sanchez leave and the Serie A side is seemingly not far off meeting that demand.
