Newly-promoted Como are reportedly considering a move for out-of-favour Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo, who is back in Turin after his relatively successful spell out on loan with Fiorentina for the 2023-24 season.

Como hoping to strike deal with Juventus for Arthur Melo

Arthur is unlikely to be part of Thiago Motta’s plans for the 2024-25 campaign, and, according to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio, he has been left at home for Juve’s pre-season training camp in Germany, where they will face Nürnberg in a friendly on Friday.

The 27-year-old is still on a relatively high wage packet at the Allianz Stadium, so his proposed move to Como will not necessarily be straight forward.

According to Sunday’s reports, Como are hoping to negotiate for some form of loan deal, which would realistically require some financial contribution from Juventus.

Arthur is under contract with the Bianconeri for another two seasons, until the summer of 2026.

There is also reported interest in the Brazilian from Premier League sides Everton and Leicester City.

Como have made a wave of promising signings so far this summer, including recognisable names in former Liverpool players Pepe Reina and Alberto Moreno, plus the encouraging moves for Alberto Dossena, Gabriel Strefezza and Andrea Belotti.

They had also been linked with moves for 2014 World Cup winner Mats Hummels, before switching their attention to former France international Raphael Varane.
