Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso was not surprised that Dusan Vlahovic stayed at the Artemio Franchi and hopes to renew with the Serbian. ‘Let’s see when he comes back’.

The Serbia international scored 21 goals in Serie A 2020-21 and the 21-year-old has been linked with moves across Europe this term.

But the 21-year-old stayed put in Florence and started the season with one goal in two Serie A games, including a brace in the first round of the Coppa Italia.

Commisso managed to stay firm when the offers arrived for the attacker this summer and now the President hopes to renew his contract when the youngster returns from international duty this month.

During an inspection of the new Viola Park sports centre built in Bagno a Ripoli, the President spoke to the reporters and stressed he was not surprised by Vlahovic’s decision to stay at the Artemio Franchi.

“No, I think he wants to stay and I hope he renews his contract,” Commisso said, according to Tuttomercatoweb.

“Now, let’s see when he comes back, let’s hope he plays tonight. I also talked to [Sofyan] Amrabat and [Youssef] Maleh.”

Serbia play Republic of Ireland in the World Cup Qualifiers tonight and Vlahovic hopes to add to his tally of seven appearances with the national team.

  1. It would be a difficult transfer but I would love him at Juve, front 3 of him, Dybala and Chiesa (plus a combo with Kulusevski and Jorge Kaio) would be very exciting to see
