Fiorentina patron Rocco Commisso has claimed CEO Joe Barone got carried away when talking about the Scudetto: “I want the fans to dream, but not now.”
The Viola CEO claimed the word Scudetto was not a ‘taboo’ at the Artemio Franchi, as the club invests in new talent and are planning for a competitive future in Florence.
Barone told, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport: “It’s not a forbidden word. We want to create a competitive team and invest in it.

“We did it in January and we will continue to do it in the next market.”
But President Commisso, who reiterated his belief in the project, moved swiftly to calm the talks of becoming an immediate candidate for the Serie A title.
“Barone said the word Scudetto is no longer a taboo,” Commisso told CasaViola on Toscana TV. “I don’t know how many glasses of wine he had before that.
“Our dreams are there, and everyone shares them. I want our fans to be able to dream, but not today, not tomorrow, in a few days.
“And I want to give them a few wins before ‘I go find someone else’.”
