Fiorentina President Rocco Commisso launched a scathing attack on Dusan Vlahovic and his agents, but also Juventus and the Viola fans who insulted him. ‘It was clear he already had a deal, they wanted to ruin Fiorentina.’

The striker rejected a new contract offer in the summer and the situation deteriorated until he finally got his dream move to Juve for €75m plus bonuses.

This included turning down more lucrative bids from Arsenal, as well as reportedly Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City and Atletico Madrid interest.

“I am very disappointed by the criticism I’ve received, including words I cannot accept,” Commisso said by phone in an audio clip released on the Fiorentina website.

“I have to stop and reflect. I thought that I’d shown what my values are with my behaviour and what all of us have done for Fiorentina. The nastiness and insults I received over the last few days are unacceptable.

“I am very let down and have to think carefully about the decisions I will have to make. The doctors told me in November I shouldn’t travel to Italy, as I was unwell, but I did it to give my contribution and help Dusan and his agents see reason. The last time I saw him, he didn’t even say hello.”

Commisso went through the timeline of the Vlahovic saga, pointing out his agents suddenly went from agreeing a €4m per season net deal to demanding €8m.

“It was clear to everyone he already had a deal with someone. He said no to every offer. I went to England many times, each time he said no.

“Vlahovic wanted to remain until his contract ran down (in June 2023, ndr) and ruin Fiorentina. His agents wanted a 10 per cent cut of the transfer fee and exclusive rights to negotiate his next move. They wanted to make money off us, so selling him now was an excellent operation.”

Commisso certainly did not hold back when discussing Vlahovic’s representatives and what he suggests were behind the scenes links with Juventus over a year ago.

“His agents were dishonest and liars. We had a good meeting in November, I expected a positive response for the morning after to sign the contract, instead he asked for double.”

  1. this poor man is so savagely robbed, his club is 80 millions euros richer now, what a filthy thieves!

  2. Serie A needs more owners like COMMISSO. He did the sensible thing and sold Vlahovic for 80 million instead of losing him for free. That 80 million can now be re-invested into the squad (not that Fiorentina fans deserve it). Can’t believe how butt-hurt they are, so pathetic.

  3. Commisso is a fool. Bought Vlahovic for peanuts and sold him in one of the biggest transfers in Serie A history. Could invest in 2 or 3 good players for that.

  4. Clown!!

Its just for shows, he’s laughing all the way to the bank with one of the biggest transfer sum in serie A

  5. So I hear Arthur Cabral will be going to Juve in a few years too !! Be Happy, if you keep selling players at this pace you can afford to buy your own stadium !

  6. He probably did about the best he could out of a dire situation! Vlahovic wanted to go. All he’s done is invest + try to build infrastructure since he got to Florence. But the fan’s are so blinded by hate for Juve that it’s made them backward! His outbursts don’t always help either, but it must be a nightmare for those busy-ness men to deal with the red, snail tape in Italy. That’s what keep’s the club stuck, rather than it’s president, spoilt player’s or even deceitful agent’s.

  7. This marco and amed is a total idiot.. Shame on u.. Im a fan of fiorentina before u was born. I believe a developed club always has a respect players to the club within.. A club is all above everything.. And rocco did the best job for fiorentina.. And dont forget fiorentina is a company and must running in the wright path.. Not ruins just by one players and his scumb agent..

  8. Well I guess Vlahovic has Rube DNA he’ll fit very well but I hope he doesn’t get mad when Rube turn against him when he flop but it’ll be a good ending. I hate Fiorentina president but in terms of business he’s amazing unlike Milan who likes losing players for free it’s much better to let someone who doesn’t want to be there go and get some money.I can see Fiorentina remaining competitive because of this. This transfer reminds me of Lukaku to Chelsea but for Inter’s case it happened when the money was needed most but after a few months it’s clear the move benefited the club and the player has moved a few steps backwards getting the same insults he used to get when living in Manchester. Vlahovic will flop and I don’t think they’ll have any patience for him to adapt.

  9. i miss Mario branca inside of me@

You must truly be ignorant. The money to build a stadium have been in place since 2006. Money have never been a problem.
The pathetic thing are all Fiorentina fans that pet his back and talk about how much he been doing to get a stadium built and forgetting Della Valle that did much more than just talked to get a stadium built but got just as far as comissa have done.
It wasn’t a surprise for anyone the difficulties to get permission to build so that he speaks like he does about it makes him a clown.

  10. @Alle

    How come ?
Scoring 20+ goals per season for mediocre Firoentina on a 800k per year Salary and not experiencing UCL doesn’t seem to be a trait of mercenaries. He rejected some hefty offers from abroad , they were going to pay him double the 7m he earns at Juve but he chose Juve.
His Fiorentina Salary in a year was equal to Ramsey’s salary in 5 weeks .
If you’re looking for thieves u need to wash your eyes

  11. Mercinary? All footballers are mercs, this is how it works. They all earn millions and go for more money! Comisso is just kissing the arses of FIorentina fans, he is perfectly happy with this sale. He got 80mils and he knows that he could not keep him nor offer him salary like big guns.

  12. Rocco is a self-declared juBentus fan, we knew he whould hand him over on a silver platter just like he did with Chiesa! 😉
