There were reports today of Milan making a bid for Chiesa, proposing Lucas Paqueta plus €20m in exchange for the Italy international, after Inter, Juventus and Manchester United seemingly turned their focus elsewhere.

“As of today, we have received no offers for Chiesa,” Commisso told Rtv38. “There have never been offers. If someone says I’m lying, let them bring the paperwork and prove me wrong.

“I like Chiesa and promised him he can go if he brings in the right price. We’ll see what happens. There is also the possibility that he could stay, as I don’t want to push anyone away.

“Chiesa must meet up and tell us what he wants to do.”

After praising Dusan Vlahovic and new signing Sofyan Amrabat, Commisso insists Fiorentina fans need some patience.

“I think the team as it is can already be considered complete. I never again want to be in the bottom half of the table, so we must be higher than 10th, which is where we finished last season.

“The fans must also understand that if we can’t increase our revenue, it’s difficult to do much better. Even Atalanta took five years to get where they are today. The fans must realise we can’t do everything in one day.

“Give me a little time, I have my ambitions and a few secret objectives.”
