The takeover talks seemed to collapse last night when Yonghong Li suddenly changed his mind, asking to keep not 15-20 per cent of the club, but at least 25-30 per cent.
“The negotiations to buy Milan continue, despite the difficulty in communication due to the constant presence of an emissary,” Commisso was quoted as telling America Oggi.
“This, in my view, damages the foundations of the rapport of trust that must exist in a complex, but clear, context like the one we have currently.
“I will close the contract, but only on my terms. Let it be clear, first of all I need to have a binding agreement. I would never accept being a minority shareholder.
“The club must be mine, because I think I can run it well and take it back to its golden days.”
Today the situation took another turn for the worse with news UEFA were excluding Milan from European competition for one season as a result of Financial Fair Play violations.
“This Milan was Champion of Europe seven times, has a tradition and history on the world stage and does not deserve to be treated like this,” added Commisso.
There were reports the US billionaire might look to another Italian club instead, such as Palermo.
“No, Milan are Milan, with a tradition that not all Italian or world clubs can boast.”
