The American tycoon met with sporting director Daniele Prade and coach Beppe Iachini today, as the Viola have started the season with one win in four attempts.

Reports in Italian media have suggested patron Commisso considered Maurizio Sarri as Iachini’s replacement, but he has confirmed Iachini’s position in the Fiorentina dugout.

“We continue with Iachini, it has never been in discussion,” Commisso told Tuttomercatoweb. “I read a lot of fake news, but as I said the other day, you have to worry about saying and doing the right things.

“This is important. I reaffirmed our confidence in Iachini, we have to do better because I didn’t like the team, but I repeat that there was no meeting with Sarri.

“We talked about the match, which I didn’t like. Now, we will talk to the team, I think the team are strong and you can’t draw a match like the one against Spezia.

“This week I’ll talk to the players, we must stick together. We are working for the same targets, Florence wants to see the team.”

The reporters asked if the match against Udinese was Iachini’s last chance to turn things around.

“I don’t make ultimatums,” the President responded.
