Roberto Mancini says Inter have a history of European comebacks, and Juan Carrizo will continue in goal.

The Nerazzurri face an uphill task to overcome a 3-1 deficit to Wolfsburg in the Europa League tonight, but Mancio believes his side can take inspiration from history.

“I said [to the players] that in all the Uefa trophies won by Inter, there have been comebacks,” Mancini told SportMediaset today.

“The last time [in 1998] against Strasbourg after the first leg was lost [2-0, but Inter won 3-0 at San Siro], and before that against Aston Villa with [Giovanni] Trap[attoni] [2-0 at Villa Park, 3-0 in Milan].”

The Beneamata Coach was then asked about Carrizo, whose poor performance in the first leg drew criticism.

“For me, he’s a very good goalkeeper, as is Samir [Handanovic].

“He has started in Europe, and it’s right that he continues.”
