Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo has revealed that he had tried to bring new Coach Stefano Colantuono to the club in the past.

Colantuono was presented to the public as Zebrette Coach for the first time today and Pozzo underlined his belief that he has appointed the right man after Andrea Stramaccioni’s departure.

"We came close to bringing Colantuono here in the past,” he said during today’s Press conference.

“Now he's with us at last. We head into the new season full of enthusiasm.

"We have great belief in Colantuono. He's got the personality needed to manage the multi-ethnic dressing room we have here.

"We're all ambitious but we must always keep our feet on the ground.

“We all know Antonio Di Natale can't go on forever. The other strikers have done well but finding a top-class goalscorer is no mean feat.

"I'd like to thank Stramaccioni and his backroom team for the good job they did last season.”
