Stefano Colantuono asks Salernitana to ‘begin again with conviction’ against Venezia after his disastrous debut on the Stadio Arechi bench.

The coach replaced sacked Fabrizio Castori last week, but was 4-0 down at home by half-time against Empoli, eventually losing the game 4-2.

“Tomorrow is a difficult match against a direct opponent who will fight to the end for the same objective as us,” Colantuono told the official Salernitana website.

“We must immediately wipe Saturday’s first half performance from our memory and begin again with conviction, based on our showing in the second half.

“It is crucial that we go in with the right attitude and concentration, because in this league you pay for every tiny mistake.”

The Granata continue to deal with numerous injuries, as although Norbert Gyomber returns, they are still missing Mamadou Coulibaly, Leonardo Capezzi and Lassana Coulibaly.

“We cannot feel sorry for ourselves, as I am convinced those who play tomorrow will put in a great performance. The team is eager to get back on track and a positive result would really give us a launchpad going forward.”
