Atalanta boss Stefano Colantuono feels Palermo will be boosted by the arrival of new Coach Gian Piero Gasperini in today’s match.
The Sicilians visit the Stadio Azzurri d’Italia this afternoon just days after Giuseppe Sannino was sacked. Click here for a match preview.
“This will be an even more difficult game for us because we won’t have any reference points on how Palermo are going to play,” said Colantuono.
“I didn’t think Palermo’s start to the season was so very negative. Sannino did good work, but now in Italy it’s too easy to sack a Coach. We can’t be surprised by anything.”
Atalanta are fresh from a surprise 1-0 victory at San Siro over Milan.
“I hope my players have forgotten that result, because we are going to have to work even harder than that in order to beat Palermo.
“We will not change our mentality. We were organised in Milan and I don’t think we were particularly cynical in our approach. It is only normal against a side like Milan that you will concede possession.”
Atalanta have a long absentee list for this game, including Guido Marilungo, Ivan Radovanovic, Ferreira Pinto, Daniele Capelli, Carlos Carmona, Davide Biondini, Ezequiel Schelotto and Federico Peluso.
