Stefano Colantuono was impressed by Salernitana’s performance in the 1-0 defeat to leaders Napoli. ‘A good game that can give us awareness, we also had opportunities to draw the match’.
Piotr Zielinski scored the only goal of the derby in Salerno but Colantuono was happy with an excellent performance, despite leaving the pitch empty handed.

“We hope that the performance can give awareness, a good game,” he told DAZN. “We did what we had to do.
“We had prepared well for the game, we didn’t risk almost anything, then after the goal we also had some opportunities to draw the match.
“I hope the lads are aware that we can play for safety. It’s a shame because sometimes it’s important to get points out of these games.”
Colantuono said Franck Ribery can be like Zlatan Ibrahimovic for Salernitana and hopes the French winger will ‘maintain these conditions’.
“His CV give shim the leadership, not us,” Colantuono added. “We hope he will maintain these conditions for a long time because we are clinging to him.”
Salernitana remain in the relegation zone with seven points from 11 games and sit one point behind Genoa in safety.
