A new era has started in Juventus’ history under the guidance of Gianluca Ferrero and Maurizio Scanavino, and the club are expected to take a new path both on and off the pitch.

La Gazzetta dello Sport details how the new president and CEO do not plan to replace either coach Massimiliano Allegri or sporting director Federico Cherubini for the time being, but things could change in the summer depending on where the team finish the season.

Allegri’s contract with Juventus is worth around €7.5m net per season plus add-ons, expiring in 2025, making it expensive to dismiss him. Cherubini’s current deal with the club expires a year earlier, in 2024. Bringing in a new head coach, like Antonio Conte or Zinedine Zidane, is expected to cost around €60-90m, putting that idea out of reach for now.

Regarding the transfer market, Ferrero and Scanavino are not planning any major operations like the €117m deal for Cristiano Ronaldo back in July 2018. Instead, the focus will be on building a young and sustainable squad.

In the coming weeks, Scanavino will fully evaluate the Juventus squad and decide which players to keep, which to sell and what replacements are needed on the transfer market.

There are also plans to bring in a Paolo Maldini-esque figure to the club, with the fans dreaming of Alessandro Del Piero’s possible return to Turin. Other possible options for this role include Cristiano Giuntoli of Napoli and Frederic Massara of Milan, two men who know the modern transfer market well.

  1. I feel like players transfer fees are non permanent. Especially this site is particularly bad for doubling or halving a transfer fee over time depending on what version of the narrative they want to enforce. Feels like they want to hyper inflate bad tranfers and reduce the fees of anyone who does well.

  2. please consider hiring a new coach. Enough of Allegri’s style of soccer. A modern coach with a modern soccer style

  3. So Finally the most corrupt organization in Italy is trying to go straight, lets see what happens when they don’t win the Scudetto and the famous fans of the Old Lady go mad.

  4. Allegri’s philosophy contradicts the new board philosophy as the new board will depend on youngesters Allegri only depends on veterans, eventually the will get rid of him sooner or later…
