Inter President Massimo Moratti says that Rafa Benitez could give his first few months in charge at the club a rating of 10 out of 10 if he were to win the Club World Cup.

Benitez went through a rough patch in November and for a moment it looked as though his job was on the line. But back-to-back wins earned him a reprieve.

Benitez went through a rough patch in November and for a moment it looked as though his job was on the line. But back-to-back wins earned him a reprieve.

Asked to reveal what rating he would give his first six months at the Inter helm, Benitez said: "6.75."

Speaking at a Press Conference in anticipation of the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi, Moratti said: "The other day I gave Inter's season a 6.5. If we win the Club World Cup I will increase it by 3.5 points."

Moratti made no secret of his desire to emulate his father Angelo who presided over Inter when they won the competition in the 1960s.

"Inter were the first Italian team to bring home this trophy and they did so twice in a row.

"I will be sad not to have close to me a few people who gave such a lot to Inter from an emotional and an affectionate point of view and who would have taken this moment as a reward: people like Peppino Prisco and Giacinto Facchetti. But I hope that they will be following us from somewhere and will give us a hand.

"This competition reminds me of what I went through as a child with a lot of joy but also a lot of suffering because games like this are always battles. But they are games worthy of Inter really because they are difficult and take character."
