Tensions exploded at Brescia today after their 3-0 loss to Genoa, with the club’s ultras frantically searching the stadium for president Massimo Cellino.

The Lombardy outfit currently sit rock bottom of the Serie B table after 30 games and have not tasted victory in their last 16 outings, casting an incredibly negative cloud over the club.

Brescia knew their hopes were slim heading into their afternoon clash with Genoa, who look set to earn promotion back to the Italian topflight, but the drama still began as the 90 minutes started to draw to a close.

BresciaInGol.com details how the Curva Nord started to quickly empty in the final minutes of the match, with hundreds of Brescia fans taking to the square behind the stand to chant harsh songs and slogans about president Cellino.

Some ultras took this a step further and began frantically searching for Cellino at the Stadio Mario Rigamonti. The president had locked himself in the dressing room, aware of the tension brewing.

At the end of February, the Brescia president opened up about the situation at the club saying: “A climate of terror has been created. There is no need to attack me verbally and physically as happened in recent days, I will remove the disturbance as soon as possible.”
