Juventus have omitted Emre Can, Mario Mandzukic and Giorgio Chiellini from their squad for the 2019-20 Champions League group stage.
Juve had a selection dilemma on their hands after they failed to trim their squad sufficiently over the summer.
As a result, Emre Can and Mandzukic are the biggest names to have been left out by boss Maurizio Sarri.
Their places are filled by Blaise Matuidi and Gonzalo Higuain, the latter of whom has fought his way back into contention.

Chiellini is also absent as he begins his recovery from a serious knee injury, having underwent surgery on Tuesday.
However, the trio can still be drafted into the squad for the knockout stages.
There are unsurprisingly no spots for Mattia Perin and Marko Pjaca, but new boys Matthijs de Ligt, Aaron Ramsey, Danilo, Adrien Rabiot, Merih Demiral are all in, as is the returning Gianluigi Buffon.
The Bianconeri have been drawn Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen and Lokomotiv Moscow in Group D.
