The city council have asked Inter and Milan to change various aspects of their new stadium plans in a bid to approve the project.

La Repubblica details how the coordinator of the public debate Andrea Pillon convened a meeting with the municipality, the Rossoneri and the Nerazzurri to discuss the news that has emerged after meetings and conversations in recent weeks.

A number of things were highlighted in this meeting and the city council asked the two Milanese clubs to tweak some aspects of their new stadium project. Among the topics discussed were the increase of green space, the carbon neutrality of the project to bring it in line with the Climate Air Plan and the environmental sustainability of the building work.

Another requirement was to have the new facilities as far away as possible from the home facing Via Tesio. The talks were calm but the two parties were clearly at heads, with mayor Giuseppe Sala and the local populace asking for concrete changes to the new stadium plans.

The two Milanese clubs are in a hurry and want to start work as soon as possible, so updates are expected in the coming weeks.
