Stories emerging from France on Monday are suggesting that the centre-forward could re-join his former club on a six-month loan deal.
The former Liverpool man joined the capital club during the summer after impressing in Greek football with Panathinaikos.
Cisse scored on his Serie A debut against Milan in a 2-2 draw, but that was back in September and he hasn’t netted in his next 13 League appearances.
Cisse, now 30, left Auxerre in 2004 for Anfield.
The French international has admitted in the past that he would consider a Ligue 1 return at some stage in the future.
He named Auxerre and Marseille – his past clubs – as the only sides he would consider joining again should he once again play in his homeland.
