The managerial merry-go-round is in full swing and Udinese are close to an agreement with their former defender Andrea Sottil, with Gabriele Cioffi heading to Verona.

Hellas Verona officially confirmed that Igor Tudor is leaving his post at the Stadio Bentegodi after less than a full season in charge.

Sky Sport Italia are confident he’ll be replaced by current Udinese coach Cioffi, who took over from sacked Luca Gotti.

Meanwhile, Tuttomercatoweb point towards Udinese striking a deal for Sottil to be their new tactician.

The 48-year-old knows Udinese very well, having played for the club as a defender from 1999 to 2003.

His management career began in 2011 at Siracusa and he has worked in the lower leagues for the likes of Gubbio, Cuneo, Paganese, Livorno, Catania and Pescara.

Sottil took charge of Ascoli in December 2020 and reached the Serie B promotion play-offs.

He is also the father of Fiorentina attacking winger Riccardo Sottil.
