Luca Cigarini is being watched by Serie A’s top sides, but his agent admits that Atalanta are in control of his future.

“The player is liked by the big clubs and Inter followed him closely during the January transfer market,” Giovanni Bia told Ita Sports Press.

“However, we’ll have to wait for Atalanta to make a decision on him at the end of the present campaign.

“He’s on loan from Napoli right now, but the Bergamo club do have the option to sign him outright in the summer.”

The Azzurri signed Cigarini in 2009 for €11m while he was part-owned by Atalanta and Parma, but he’s been on loan in Bergamo since 2011.

Playmaker Cigarini has been called up by Italy boss Cesare Prandelli on two occasions, but he has yet to win his first cap.
