Atalanta’s Luca Cigarini has been given a three-match ban after his double yellow card in the Nerazzurri’s 1-1 draw with Napoli in midweek.

The 28-year-old was sent off for a second bookable offence, after handing the ball with seven minutes to go.

Two more games of suspension have been added to the automatic one-game ban, because of offence remarks the League say he addressed towards the referee.

Elsewhere on the peninsula, Parma’s Alex Cordaz has been handed a two-game suspension after he was dismissed from the bench in the Ducali’s 1-0 defeat at Torino for shouting abuse towards the officials.

Lazio’s Luis Pedro Cavanda has been banned for a single match after he was shown two yellow cards against Verona.

Meanwhile, Atalanta’s Yohan Benalouane, Cagliari’s Danilo Avelar, Milan’s Sulley Muntari and Palermo’s Luca Rigoni have all been given one-match suspensions for an accumulation of yellow cards.

Roma have also been handed a €12,000 fine as their Coach Rudi Garcia used a transmitter receiver to communicate with his technical staff in the stands.

Off the pitch, the Giallorossi have been a fined a further €15,000 due to their fans’ discriminatory chants during the game against Cesena, while Atalanta have been fined €5,000 for the setting off and throwing of fireworks and missiles by their supporters during the match against Napoli.
