“There has never been any contact with Ajax,” agent Victor Becali told TMW when asked about the speculation.
“As is stands we have still not been offered anything in terms of a contract extension by Inter,” he continued.
“However, I can confirm that Cristian will not be going to Ajax in January. Only a massive offer could see Chivu leave the club before his contract expires.”
The defender, who has been used as a left-back by Inter rather than in his preferred centre-back role, spent four years at Ajax before his 2003 move to Roma.
