Inter's Cristian Chivu has denied reports that he was ready to sue doctors with regards to an operation he had last August.
Reports from Romania claimed that the stopper was looking for damages against the surgeon who carried out the procedure and the Inter medical staff.
“I never considered suing professor Franco Benazzo, nor the Inter medical staff either,” the defender said in a note on the Inter website.
“Even though I’m not directly responsible for what was published in these newspapers, I’d like to apologise to the doctors involved for these false reports that damage their reputations and sense of professionalism.
“On the contrary, I’ve always appreciated their work and hold them to be internationally renowned professionals of the highest order.”
Chivu has had a problematic return from injury. The 32-year-old has only played in 15 games for Inter across all competitions this season.
