The English side are expected to submit a new offer for the Italian Under-21 international this week, having seen a previous offer rejected.

It was reported yesterday that a large offer would be considered by both current owners Fininvest and the Chinese consortium which has agreed to buy the club.

According to Sky, the incoming owners are likely to block any sale, as it would send a bad message to the Rossoneri fans about their long-term planning.

In addition, the 21-year-old is likely to retain a high value for many years, meaning he would fetch a high price in the future if the Diavolo later decide to sell.

Finally, with just a week until the transfer window closes, Milan wouldn’t have time to find a suitable replacement.
