Chilean FA President Pablo Milad explained Inter striker Alexis Sanchez’s injury ‘is rather complicated’ and doesn’t expect the star striker to play in the next World Cup qualifiers.

The Nerazzurri striker is struggling to recover in time for the new season and is expected to be out with a calf injury until mid-September.

Inter waiting for Sanchez offers?

That would mean he misses the start of Serie A and the three World Cup qualifying matches for Chile at the start of next month.

The President of the Chilean Football Association explained to And Radio that the former Barcelona and Manchester United forward’s injury is ‘serious’.

“Once again it will be difficult to count on Alexis,” Milan told the Radio station. “He has a rather complicated injury.

“We hope he can come here in time, but the situation is serious.”

The 32-year-old, capped 139 times by Chile, completed a permanent move to Inter from Manchester United in September 2020, after spending 2019-20 on loan at San Siro.

Sanchez has appeared in 70 competitive games with the Nerazzurri, contributing 11 goals and 18 assists in the process.
