Chievo face 15-point deduction?

The FIGC’s prosecutor is reportedly standing by his demands for Chievo to be handed a 15-point deduction for alleged false accounting.

Chievo were initially not charged due to a technicality, with the prosecutor erroneously denying the club a hearing by July 15, thinking the deadline had expired.

Chievo were initially not charged due to a technicality, with the prosecutor erroneously denying the club a hearing by July 15, thinking the deadline had expired.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport claims the second hearing began on Wednesday, involving the Flying Donkeys, President Luca Campedelli, the club’s directors and those of now-defunct Cesena.

Prosecutor Giuseppe Pecoraro would be holding out for a three-year ban for Campedelli and the Serie A strugglers to be docked 15 points this season.

Chievo are accused of exchanging players with Cesena at many times their actual value, in order to show false profits on their balance sheets.
