Federico Chiesa will reportedly undergo knee surgery tomorrow in Innsbruck and is expected to remain out of action for at least six months.

The Italy international sustained a cruciate ligament injury against Roma last week and according to Tuttomercatoweb, he will undergo surgery at a private clinic in Innsbruck tomorrow.

Professor Christian Fink will perform the surgery. He is the same specialist who performed knee surgeries on Giorgio Chiellini and Nicolò Zaniolo in 2019 and 2020.

Chiesa has been ruled out for the remainder of the season and is expected to remain out of action for at least six months.

The 24-year-old will miss Juventus’ games in the second part of the campaign and Italy’s World Cup play-offs in March.

He joined Juventus from Fiorentina on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy in 2020. Juventus will pay up to €60m for his permanent transfer.

He has 18 goals in 61 appearances across all competitions with the Bianconeri.
