“If the owner says he’ll stay then I don’t see any problems for his future,” club legend Antognoni told reporters after the Pitte Imagine event today.

“He also stressed the importance of his father, we’re optimistic that the choice made by the player will keep him in Florence for at least a few years.

“We’re happy that there are offers from other teams but we also need to think about ourselves and our fans.

“The offers will be returned to sender, [Diego] Della Valle said that too.”

Marco Sportiello hasn't been signed permanently after his loan from Atalanta, and the Viola are now being linked with Udinese's Alex Meret.

"I've known him for a long time, since he was in the national youth teams. He's grown a lot, and I think he'd be a great signing for Fiorentina."
