Chiesa and seven other Juventus players out of Thiago Motta’s plans

It is not just Federico Chiesa who is out of Thiago Motta’s first team plans at Juventus, as seven other senior squad members are in line to leave the club before the close of the transfer window.

Chiesa was left out of the Juventus squad for Saturday’s pre-season friendly against Brest, which ended in a 2-2 draw after goals from Dusan Vlahovic and captain Danilo.

New Juventus coach Thiago Motta confirmed after full-time that Chiesa had been left out of the team ‘for transfer reasons’ and that he had been told to find a new solution as quickly as possible.

However, Motta confirmed that Chiesa had been told the same as ‘all the others who were left out,’ which means he is not the only one out of the first team plans in Turin heading into the 2024-25 season.

Fabrizio Romano confirms that there are seven other Juventus first teamers who may need to find a new club in the coming weeks.

They include goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, versatile midfielder Weston McKennie, defenders Mattia Di Sciglio and Daniele Rugani, as well as Filip Kostic, Arthur Melo and Hans Nicolussi Cavigila.

Of those seven players, some have already begun to explore moves away from the Allianz Stadium, including Rugani, who is set to join Ajax on loan, and Szczesny, who has been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League.
