Federico Chiesa is finally set to return to the Juventus squad following his serious knee injury, reports detail.

The 25-year-old Italian winger suffered an anterior cruciate ligament rupture back in January, leaving him sidelined for the rest of the year. He returned to training earlier this month and has slow been working toward match fitness, not wanting to suffer a relapse in the final stages of his recovery.

As reported by Tuttosport, Massimiliano Allegri and Federico Cherubini were closely watching Chiesa in a training session with the Primavera squad yesterday, keen to see his progress.

The former Fiorentina winger has the chance to be included in the match squad for the upcoming game against Lecce, and if not on the weekend then Chiesa could play a few minutes in the final Champions League group game against Paris Saint-Germain next week.

Chiesa will be a key figure in the Juventus squad in the second half of the season and Allegri wants to make sure he’s in top condition for the new year.
