There’s always a tense atmosphere in Florence when Fiorentina host Juventus, but things are even more difficult for Federico Chiesa and Dusan Vlahovic.

The Viola have been in strong form under Vincenzo Italiano this season and find themselves in the upper echelon of the Serie A table after 10 matches, sitting just two points behind fourth place Atalanta.

Without any European commitments, Juventus have been performing well in the league this term and are keenly involved in the title race, just two points behind league leaders Inter.

As highlighted by La Stampa via TMW, Juventus’ away clash with Fiorentina carries extra weight for Chiesa and Vlahovic, two players who developed as stars in Florence. Both will likely receive loud boos and whistles upon their return to the Stadio Artemio Franchi.

For Chiesa, it’s his first return to the Tuscany capital following his move to the Bianconeri in October 2020. He has missed Juventus’ last four away games with Fiorentina due to various injuries, but now he’s finally ready to return to his old stomping ground.

Vlahovic is already well aware of the atmosphere awaiting him at the Stadio Artemio Franchi and will try to return to scoring ways after a four-game goal drought.
