According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Barcelona could see Juventus star Federico Chiesa as an alternative to first choice Nico Williams.

Coach Thiago Motta made clear last week that “the decision has been made” to sell Chiesa this summer, seeing as his contract expires in June 2025 and he is not part of their plans.

Several clubs have been mentioned to sweep him up for under €20m, including Roma, Napoli, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea, but none seem ready to make the bid.

Barcelona join the race for Chiesa

Now Sport suggest that Chiesa’s agent has been in contact to effectively offer him to Barcelona as a valid alternative in case Nico Williams decided to remain with Athletic Club Bilbao.

It could be another option for the Italy international, but again they seem in no rush to give him a firm answer on his future.

The longer the situation drags on, the more likely Juventus will have to further drop the price-tag and the player his salary demands.

The minimum they can get for him and not make a net loss on his original €60m purchase from Fiorentina is €15m.

3 thought on “Chiesa offered to Barcelona as Nico Williams alternative”
  1. That would be a really interesting move for Chiesa! They play 3 attackers, he would fit into that team far left I think really well.

  2. I refuse to believe he’s available for that low sum and the fact that nobody has picked him up yet, whatever his wage demands might be. He’s Italy’s best player. I wish Milan had an empty place in the squad for him, but alas…

  3. Raffel leao morata chiesa, pulisic, benacer, Musa, Theo H, and the other defenders.
