Federico Chiesa insists Juventus ‘did enough to qualify’ and ‘deserved to go through’ after their Champions League exit to Porto.

The Italy international was perhaps the only bright spot in this evening, as he scored two fantastic goals on top of the one in Oporto during the first leg.

However, it still wasn’t enough and Juve crashed out on away goals, 4-4 on aggregate, against a Porto side who were down to 10 men from the 54th minute.

“I don’t take anything positive from this evening. I wanted to go through and there is great regret, as after the first half, we did enough to deserve to qualify, from the many chances to Juan Cuadrado hitting the bar,” Chiesa told Sky Sport Italia.

“When you don’t go through, you have to analyse what happened, but I feel that in the second half we had a different mentality and deserved to go through.

“We wanted to be in the quarter-finals, we’re not, so now we focus on Serie A and the Coppa Italia.”
