Juventus are hoping to lock down Federico Chiesa to a new contract but the winger is taking his time to decide his next steps, reports suggest.

The 26-year-old Italian’s contract with the Bianconeri expires in less than two years and the club are aware of the widespread interest in their winger, so have planning to offer him a new five-year deal.

Chiesa has often struggled to show his best in Massimiliano Allegri’s pragmatic system and recent reports claimed that his future with Juventus may be tied to their coaching decisions. This term, he’s scored five goals and provided two assists in 15 league games.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport via TMW, Chiesa is in no hurry to extend his contract with Juventus as he wants to understand the future of the project at the club, unsure about moving forward with Allegri.

The 26-year-old would be open to staying with the Old Lady and could pen a one-year renewal, extending his contract to June 2026. This would help stave off Premier League interest and would give the winger the time to decide his future.
