Federico Chiesa can see the light at the end of the tunnel following his cruciate ligament rupture and faces one final test with Juventus as he works to finish his recovery.

The 24-year-old Italian suffered the ligament injury during a 4-3 win over Roma back in January, leaving him sidelined for the rest of the year. Chiesa has slowly been recovering ever since and is now finally close to seeing action on the pitch once again. His return will provide a key attacking boost to Massimiliano Allegri’s side.

La Repubblica repots that Chiesa will take part in a friendly match with the Juventus squad on the training ground next week, the final step before he fully returns to Allegri’s squad.

The Bianconeri hope to recover Chiesa in time for the vital Champions League clash with Benfica on October 25, a must-win game as they desperately fight for a spot in the Round of 16 of the competition.

6 thought on “Chiesa faces final test before Juventus return”
  1. He should be reviewing his style of play which allowed serious rupture…playing efficiently worth for his career

  2. He should take his time, and not rush back.
Nothing to play for domestically, or otherwise.

If he starts performing, and delivering, it sweeps the current stake mess under the carpet.

Let them burn, so change can come.

  3. The Benfica game is only crusial for qualifying for europa league. Our CL season is allready over….
