Recent reports claimed Newcastle United were plotting a summer move for Federico Chiesa, so what’s the truth behind the Juventus winger’s future?
On Monday, Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport suggested that the Old Lady were ready to receive an ‘important offer’ from the Magpies for the Italy international, who has struggled to show his best under Massimiliano Allegri this season. In recent months, Liverpool have also been linked with a move.
Chiesa has just over a year left on his contract with Juventus, forcing the club to make a decision ahead of the summer transfer window. This season, the Italian winger has scored eight goals and provided two assists in 1870 minutes of action across 28 games.
Chiesa update
Transfer market expert Matteo Moretto provided an update on Juventus’ talks with Chiesa and the Newcastle rumours via Caught Offside.
The Bianconeri have scheduled a meeting with the winger’s agent Fali Ramadani to discuss a new contract in Turin. Should no agreement be reached before the summer, a sale would make sense, but no decision has been made yet.
Regarding the rumours linking Newcastle to the 26-year-old, there are still no confirmations yet regarding any interest.
