Federico Chiesa has confirmed his future with Juventus and he could become the new number 10 following the departure of Paulo Dybala.

The 24-year-old Italian winger was having a great season under Massimiliano Allegri in Turin following his explosion at Euro 2020 last summer, but everything came to a halt in January, when he suffered a cruciate ligament rupture. His season was ended and now he’s working on his recovery, hoping to return to action in the Autumn.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are seriously thinking about entrusting the number 10 shirt to Chiesa, despite the fact that he doesn’t fit the bill tactically.

The 24-year-old Italian is a winger and not an attacking midfielder or trequartista, unlike players like Roberto Baggio and Alessandro Del Piero. Despite that, however, it’s also been work by players like Carlos Tevez and Paul Pogba.

The only other factor that could stop this is the transfer market; Juventus could sign someone who wants to ‘claim’ the number 10 shirt in Turin, upsetting the plan. The upside, however, is shirt sales; Chiesa could create a brand around the 10 shirt, similar to Cristiano Ronaldo and Dusan Vlahovic with the number 10 shirt.

  1. Even as an Inter fan I will admit that he is pure quality but fortunately he has a donkey for a coach that started to ruin his impact on the team. Credit to Pirlo at least for unlocking his talent.

  2. @Marco look at the table enough said. We might not win the league but the fact that Juventini are cheering for Milan is pathetic. Many Juve fans do not realise that if Milan wins you do not win.

  3. @Marco, I love Juve and I am a ultra fan but I think Allegri is not the right coach for Juventus. Also, I am expectingbthat Arrivabene will bena better team architect than Paratici.

Btw, don’t put attention to interistas, they will always look to the stars when talking about Juve.

  4. @Inter365. After winning nine scudetti on the trot, Juve has to recharge its batteries for another period of domination so feeding a few scraps to Inter last year and Milan this year doesn’t really bother us too much. It’s very much like the cat and the mouse. Juve is the cat that pounces on the mouse and then allows the mouse to think it can get away until the cat pounces again – enjoy your one season of dominance which will end in 3 weeks.

  5. @Frankie agreed. But lets be honest our record in Europe is terrible and worse then the other 2. I am not a petty Milan or Inter hater but we have to be honest with this stat. Also be careful with Investcorp as they will shower Milan with transfer money and lets be honest money talks more than ever nowadays. I remember when Berlusconi bought them and they were really frightening back then. Football is a cyclical game and we will have our moment again, but I am concerned that we have many areas in which to address. I honestly think it is going to take another 2 seasons as our midfield, wing backs and ageing backline cannot be fixed in one transfer window.

  6. Biggest mistake in his career by trusting his 3 years to allegri. But can’t blame him though. I can see his decline in the horizon unless he switch to another club with a coach who will to squeeze every last drop of his marvellous talent. What a waste for Italia, another promising talent to ruin by allegri.

  7. What number would Salah like? Or Lingard? I hope juve doesn’t muster Chiesa 10 DV7 and Salah for next season, because that attack would be absolutely lethal. Likewise would Leao, Origi (or other) and Marhez be
